TPLO BASIC

Course Description

Are you ready to move on to the next level in cranial cruciate ligament repair?
TPLO has become a favourite technique of general and specialty veterinarians to treat CrCl tears in all size Canine and Feline patients.
This technique, when correctly executed offer excellent outcomes to our patients as well as an opportunity to develop a tremendous profit center for your practice. A Faculty of internationally renowned experts will guide you through a series of lectures,
Lab practicals, live demo on cadaveric specimens, interactive cases discussions and planning exercises.
Participants will perform TPLOs on plastic bones and cadavers using state-of-the-art equipment and implants. Postoperative radiographs will be taken to assess the participant’s repair technique feedback will be given during collegial discussions.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this course the participants will be able to:

Recognise the indications and rationale for TPLO
Discuss the principles of TPLO surgery
Correctly execute a preoperative TPLO planning for different breeds of dogs and cats
Perform a surgical approach to the stifle joint, recognise and evaluate the intra articular anatomical structures
Perform the TPLO technique and identify and discuss the challenges
Conduct a critical evaluation during the post operative assessment
Prescribe post operative recommendations
Perform a critical evaluation of the healing during the follow examination
Discuss possible complications and related treatment
